Become a Member

The Bible speaks strongly to being a faithful part of a local body of believers. We are not perfect, but we are ardent in our desire to glorify Christ, minister to the needs of our community and reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We hope you will join with us on this incredible and vital mission.
We believe every Christ follower  needs to be  part of a local body of believers, and this is a  high priority for us at First Baptist. Being a Christ follower means being joined to a church. Scripture instructs us to assemble regularly so that we can rejoice in our common hope and encourage one another. (Heb. 10:23-25)

Church membership is not simply a record of a box we once checked.  It’s not feeling good about being in a Church some Sundays.  It should be a reflection of a commitment we make.  When we make a commitment to the Church, you are identifying with the Pastors and fellow members in gathering, giving, prayer and service.

Step 1: Salvation

The first step in becoming a member of the Church is first making sure you have your relationship in step with  Jesus Christ.  Christ is the head of the church (Colossians 1:18) and obedience to Him is every members first priority.  We encourage you if you have never surrendered your life to Jesus to contact a pastor by clicking here. We would love to share with you about who Christ is and what He has done on your behalf.

STEP 2: (ONE OF THE FOLLOWING MUST APPLY)

  • BAPTISM BY IMMERSION:
For persons who have been saved by accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and desire to obey Christ by being scripturally baptized by immersion.
  • LETTER FROM ANOTHER BAPTIST CHURCH:
For persons who are saved, have been baptized by immersion after salvation, and are members in good standing of another Baptist church which will transfer them by letter to FBCL (we will handle transfer of the letter).
  • STATEMENT OF FAITH:
For persons who are saved and have been baptized by immersion after salvation but are not members of another Baptist church.

STEP 3: COMPLETE THE NEW MEMBERS CLASS

Our Membership Class is a one-time, one-hour class to help you understand who we are as a church, what we believe, and how we operate. First Baptist is very active in the community in and through its ministries and we would love to give you a virtual tour of our campus so you can discover the many ways you can be involved in what God is doing.

STEP 4: BECOME AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE BODY

We encourage all members to be active in corporate & personal Worship, Connect in a Bible Fellowship group or Home Group, and join us in Engaging our community & world!
